The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a government-supported program that gives financial assistance to eligible children. A total of up to $1095 over two consecutive calendar years can be claimed.

How do I know if I qualify for CDBS?

Usually, you’ll know if you qualify as the Australian government or Medicare would have sent you a letter explaining your eligibility. However, letters are easily thrown out, and approximately only a third of entitled individuals take up the service.

* “Free dental” means you won’t have any expense to pay as the Commonwealth government’s CDBS bulk billed by our dental clinic, provided you are eligible.

Are you eligible for the CDBS?

To be eligible:

  • The child is 2 to 17 yrs (for at least one day that year)
  • The child is eligible for Medicare
  • You’re getting a payment from the Australian government at least once a year, or having a parent getting a payment from the government at least once a year.
  • You can be the child’s parent, guardian or the approved care organisation for the child.

Dental services claimable through CDBS

  • Scale/clean/polish/x-ray
  • Tooth fillings
  • Tooth extractions
